Audience of the finals up by +147% compared to the previous year

CINCINNATI, June 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The 2022 Scripps Spelling Bee National Finals drew its biggest TV audience since 2015.

The EW Scripps Company decided last fall to move the bee to its own networks in a bid to make the competition more accessible than in recent years, with the semi-finals and finals airing for the first time on the networks of national television Scripps ION, Bounce, Laff and TrueReal.
