“I haven’t had a TV at home for 20 years,” says Sadiya Siddiqui, who joined Barrister Babu’s cast

Sadiya Siddiqui, who was last seen in Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai (YUDKBH), is set to return to television after a two-year hiatus, with attorney Babu. She is the last actress to join the cast of the series after Khushboo Kamal and Rajeshwari Sachdev. Speaking about her character, Sadiya says, “The creators are introducing a new character. I will be considered an authoritarian woman. Bondita (Aurra Bhatnagar) will live with me. I’m pretty much on the rules and expect everyone to follow them, which of course will be questioned by the protagonist. This will cause problems and friction between old traditions and logical thinking. I accepted this role because I worked with Shashi and Sumeet Mittal in Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji and YUDKBH. I share with them a great professional equation. Besides, he’s a Bengali character and I love to look like a Bengali. I love the food, the clothes and the language. i will also use a bengali
takiya kalaam (catchphrase) for my character in the series! I can’t wait to play the part.

Ask her about her absence on the small screen and she replies, “I shot for a few movies in between. I don’t start a TV show until someone introduces me to an interesting character. There are a lot of things that give me butterflies in my stomach. I would prefer to do that. There is a dearth of important characters for seasoned TV actors. Maybe audiences don’t want to watch strong characters anymore. It used to be that shows were character-driven and we had so many great actors. ”

In fact, she hasn’t even owned a TV for years, as the media’s content has ceased to appeal to her. She shares: “I had a television about 20 years ago. I live in Versova near the beach. Thus, the TV often stopped working due to the breeze and humidity and had to be repaired frequently. I was advised to use it if I didn’t want it to crash so often. I tried using it, but didn’t like anything. The only show I liked to watch was Shark Tank.

Now a life-size photo of her adorns the wall. She said, “Now I have a nice photo on this wall. This is an old photo I received from my brother. He had it framed. Best of all, I have looked the same over the years (laughs!). ”
