Kick-off, TV set for Georgia in Auburn

Georgia and Auburn will face off for the 126th time on Saturday, October 9. This game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET as the first half of a doubles program. Alabama and Texas A&M will kick off at 8 p.m. as the second stop on CBS ‘roster. CBS exercised their six-day option last week and had to decide between The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry or the Ole Miss-Arkansas game. The Rebels and Razorbacks were beaten by Alabama and UGA, respectively, on Saturday.

UGA vs. Auburn started at 3:30 p.m. ET the last two times it was played at Auburn. The Tigers won in 2017 by a score of 40-17 while the Bulldogs took their revenge in 2019 with a victory of 21-14. Last year’s game kicked off at 7:30 p.m. ET inside Sanford Stadium, a game dominated by UGA from start to finish and won 27-6.

Auburn, in his first season under Bryan Harsin, is 3-1 on the year with a 28-20 loss at Penn State two weeks ago. He needed a fourth quarter comeback to beat Georgia State at home last Saturday and made a quarterback change from Bo Nix to TJ Finley in the second half. He will face LSU in Baton Rouge on Saturday night with kickoff scheduled for 9 p.m. ET.

Georgia are 5-0 on the year after a 37-0 victory over Arkansas on Saturday. The Bulldogs also had victories over Clemson, UAB, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. They have eliminated two SEC opponents in consecutive games for the first time since 1980, edging Vanderbilt and Arkansas 99-0 the last two times. Georgia have won 13 of their last 16 games against Auburn and 15 of the last 19. Since Kirby Smart became the head coach of the UGA, the Bulldogs are 5-1 against the Tigers and that includes a 28-7 win in the 2017 SEC Championship game.
