ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – We all know the Tampa Bay area is full of talented and creative people. Today I want to introduce you to a man who started baking cakes for a good cause. And that led to handsome profits.
Anthony Lewis lost his job at a bad time in his life. Lewis said from there things went from bad to worse.
In 2018, her mother was diagnosed with cancer. As a single father, Lewis struggled to keep up with his mother’s chemotherapy treatment bills. So he had a very good idea.
His mum used to make Anthony this red velvet cake when he and his siblings were little and that’s when Anthony thought “why don’t I learn to make this recipe” from his mother and would sell the cake to make ends meet.
After selling one cake, he sold another. And then even more! Next thing you know, people started coming back for more.
That’s when Selina’s Red Velvet Cake was born. Anthony now cooks outside his home and has even caught the eye of local shops and restaurants.
And there is still more good news! In 2019, Anthony’s mother beat cancer.
Today, Selina’s is expanding across Tampa Bay and donating $1 from every purchase to the Florida Cancer Specialist Foundation to help someone going through the same battle win their battle with cancer!
