The government and the Cambodian Television Alliance have signed an agreement to establish a Cambodian Digital Television Company that will showcase Cambodia’s socio-economic progress.
The signing ceremony was held between State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ieng Sunly, Lok Chumteav Hun Mana (Mr. Hun Sen’s eldest daughter), Tycoon Kith Meng, Tycoon Ing Chhay Nguon and the representative of the Cambodian Television Alliance in the presence of relevant leaders and senior officials from both parties at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Aun Pornmoniroth.
Sunly said the signing ceremony is a milestone that reflects progress in Cambodia’s socio-economic status, especially the digital sector under the peaceful roof of Prime Minister Hun Sen’s able leadership.
He said that the collaboration between the government and the Alliance of Cambodian Televisions in the establishment of the Cambodian Digital Television Corporation is a reality that highlights the importance of close public-private partnership in Cambodia’s development process.
He pointed out that as part of the government’s plan to relocate digital frequencies, this Cambodian digital television incubator will allow private analogue television companies to convert broadcasts from analogue to high-quality digital in order to transmit video and audio. audio to the public across the Kingdom of Cambodia.
He added that on the other hand, the government will also be able to release the frequency band of the private analogue television companies, in particular the 700 MHz frequency band which will be ceded to the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications for use in the telecommunications sector. , such as 5G, which has high economic advantages compared to the use in the audiovisual field.
